This picture does not look very well because I used my little camera that I carry around in my purse (Silly little Nikon). I will re-take the picture with my big un (Nikon), when I get the card back. I was hired to make more invites, but this time it's for a baby shower. I just did a few examples, and this one was my favorite one. I've been sort of sad ever since last year when my oldest daughter refused to be in band. With me being a music major I just thought she'd follow in my footsteps. NOT! I think I burned her out with all those piano and violin lessons. Anyways,last night I noticed that my little dd, is not only a music lover, but she likes to compose her own songs. I know this song sounds familiar, but it's only one of the many she's made up. To top it off, she sings along with her drums. I'm one happy camper!! Plus the drums have become one of my favorite instruments. Mama is a happy camper!! YAY!! Too bad she's only 7, I won't know for sure until she's 12!

I made my niece on my husband's side her quniceanera invitations. This is what they look like. They are not perfect, and they do look so much better in person. The picture just doesn't do it justice. In real life the dress sparkles so much because I used silver stickles. The dress and sentiment are raised with 3-D pop dots. The ribbon is black with maroon organdy. I also put those daisy's all over the back of the cards. Feel free to post your comments.

1. In 1997-98 I divorced my dh only to marry him right back :o| (second time's a charm).
2. During that time I got a tattoo on the right back side close to my small waist, hahaha(well I used to be skinny), and it's of a treble clef with a rose.
3. I am very protective of my entire immediate family, and my married younger sister won't do anything without my permission :o| (it's not a good thing cause it's too much of a burden for me).
4. I get extremely nervous when I have to play my insturment solo, and I tend to make severe mistakes! (OH NO!!!)
5. I pride myself in helping others to the best of my ability (take after my late daddy).
6. My daddy was my best friend, and we'd talk for hours on the phone on a daily basis (miss you my bestest friend).
7. I see dead people! Just kidding just wanted to see if you were paying attention ;o) Come Nov. 1st, my little sister will give birth to the first baby boy of this family, and for that I love her even MORE!! I can hardly wait to take over that boy! ;o) hehehe!!

Halloween Lesson

Today we had a lesson, and yes we are still at it! :o Roger, Tomas and Sabrina held one tremendous lesson! They taught us a new halloween song, and tempo, and how to sing in different pitches! They also taught us so much more! I enjoyed this lesson, but what I'm enjoying the most is how much we are improving throughout this semester! I know that I've had lots of fun!!!

Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. I parked my beatle at the music department at college, and went in to change and get some instruments to take to a gig. When I headed out I noticed that someone had wrecked into it!! They didn't even leave me a note!! Why do people do this! I have been in hell ever since! Taking care of so much paperwork, and not to mention that my car started malfunctioning after this hit n run. I am extremely worried now because I rely on my car 1000% on a daily basis! Anyways, it might not look like much in this picture, but trust me it's much worse than it looks. Plus my heart is broken!! I've had my car for 3 years, and bought it brand spanking new, and this is it's first accident. I'm so upset with people that wreck into cars, and don't take responsiblity for their actions. Whoever you are, I hope you can sleep at night! Just remember we don't leave this good earth without paying all our dues!! ;o) Anyways, my car is going to get fixed, thank God I can still see a rainbow after all this muck! Whoever did this to me, I forgive you for not leaving me a note, and if you really new me you'd know that I'd never ever charge you for this! I would have just appreciated a note or at least an anonymous note saying that you were sorry. But I know by your actions that you are not sorry, and that is what really saddens me. The mere fact that someone would really hate me, is more painful then the darn wreck. Material things can be fixable!! And I know that it was a music person, for no one else goes back there!! And I mean NO ONE!! So this person truly knows that i'm the odd ball with the cute red beatle!!! NUFF SAID!!

Secret Sister Revealed!

Today as I went to the mail I received a wonderful package! It came from my secret sister. Her name is Cindi. Throughout three months I received many wonderful gifts from her. This one was by far my favorite! She made me a wonderful album. It made me cry! As I went thru it I realized that she had gotten to know me so well. I still can't get over the wonderful album. I will defintely treasure it for the rest of my life. Thank you CINDI, you ARE AWESOME!!!

"A Purse Situation"

Okay so most of you know that I'm in school right now. On most days I carry my backpack, instrument, water bottle, and purse. On other days I add to all that my backpack which homes my huge Nikon D80. As I usually get to my destination, I usually go to my locker. The purse I had was just a magnet snap closure. Everytime I bent over everything would come flying out of the darn purse. Yesterday this finally drove me insane! I went to the mall with my good friend Erica, and I bought myself a Kathy Van Zeeland. It was on sale really cheap marked down from $75.00. First bargain I get ever, so I was happy! Good day! Well I get home, and show my mother, and she gives me this look :o I was like WTF?? You don't like it? She was, "of course I love it, but I had gotten you a purse!" I was like huh? She then gives me a beautiful dooney purse that she bought me. I was speechless. Now I don't know which one to use, since I love them both! She even got me a wallet! So I have decided to use my Kathy until it gives out or until I get bored with it. After that then I will use my dooney. Aren't I the lucky one!!! I think so!!! YAY!!!

This is one of the nicest and sweetest individual that I've ever known. She just amazes me every time I talk to her. When I got to TAMIU I was so alone, and sad. Erica came to the rescue! She made me feel right at home! She is the one that makes me realize that there still is much good in this world. She's one tremendous dancer, and musician. She has many good qualities. Well of course she would, she was raised in Zapata (my town). I'm glad that Laredo, TX has not gotten the best of her. Thank you Girl! YOU ROCK!!!

So today was the day when we presented our "twinkle twinkle little star" to a pretend elementary class. I made hats, and a really fun activity. The rest of the guys (we were 4 teachers), bought food and snacks, and one of them played the guitar while we sang. The guitarist was awesome cause at the last minute I asked him to make it jazzy, and he did!!! We then presented the children with an award which said they had mastered the song. COOL! These are several pictures that a friend of mine took.

Okay I have decided to post the card/gift that I made for my good friend Mary Jayne. I can bet my right eye that she won't see this until then. She's real bad at browsing thru my blog. I think it's pretty safe to post it. Besides if she does see it, she's not really seeing it in real life, right? If you go to my older posts you will be able to see the tins bare, all I did was alter it a bit, and added chocolate nuggets which I've altered with avery labels and a stamp from papertreyink.com. The tin I altered with Stampin up - simply scrapping kit. Hope she likes it, I had to do a different card since she's a tremendous crafter. I didn't want to let her down, and I probably will, but I can honestly say that I gave it my best shot to impress her.

Yesterday my oldest dd turned 13 :crying: I am now officially OLD! The good thing about her is that she only wanted books for her bday. GOODIE!!! She's very quiet, and low maintanence. She didn't want a party. Only BOOKS!!

Okay so I was so darn bored yesterday, because on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have a huge gap in my day. I am off from 9am-3pm :o So I decided that it was time for me to get some nails. This is part of a project I'm in over at pbase. YES, I'm crazy always taking more than I can handle! WEIRD!! Anyway, the project was to snap a pic of anything upside down. I went crazy racking my head for ideas. I had all my marching band friends posing upside down, and getting all together bending backwards, etc....they would all say the same thing to me, "anything for you myrna!" Heck I even made one guy put his glasses on upside down, hahaha, I'm posting that one as well, It's a keeper! I'm posting several pics just to show that I'm not lying. You will see that I had them going crazy! Every though my models were awesome and very cooperative, it didn't really inspire me. I had just about given up! I said well I'll just not post this week, but then OMG!! I get home and my little niece had this old bike upside down!! What are the odds??? Pretty slim! She said that she was playing with the pedals cause she liked the way the back wheel moved! I WAS SPEECHLESS!!! So niece rushes inside, and I'm there staring at the bike! I felt sorry for it, because it looked lonely, sad, and tired to me. So that's the story of my upside down picture! HOW YOU DOING? This is what my twin sister Resbushia says all the time in that movie NORBIT!! hahahaha!!

I made this card, but I messed it up a bit, it wasn't dried yet and I smeared it to H3LL. Anyways, I used my new stamp set that I bought over at http://www.inspirations.ca/ they are AWESOME! The set was designed by our very own Shackie owner "sherry" So head on over there, and buy yourself a set before she runs out. BTW, the set is very reasonable in price.

The pencil holder I cased off from the SU stampin success. I made it for my sister since she's a teacher, and likes to have extra pencils. Okay still no camera, but I managed to take a few with my dd's little sony, how dull! Once you are used to the big dogs, the little ones seem insignificant! I had my shackie friends praying for rain, and OMG!! A miracle!!! It started raining, so I had to shoot some pics to show them that I am not lying when I tell them that it indeed did rain!! There you have it prayers go a long way. I will post my Monday pictures later on when I retrieve my awesome NIKON D80. Thank you all my dear shackies for praying!! And please ignore my boring old blinds, my room is the only one that doesn't have plantation blinds yet, hehehe!! It's in the process as we speak.

Okay well I'm really running low on ideas of pictures, so I took a picture of this silly poster my dh has posted over at his game room :O WEIRD!! So this was taken 2 years ago, when I first started college, and I made it to all state. The community college made it a big deal, and got us to pose. What a mistake for this picture surrounded the newspapers for many months! How dull!! I was so embarrassed. Okay so these are the people:

Eventhough the B-day girl didn't want her day to end, it did. She was blessed this year, she got so many things. She's still missing Mary Jayne's card, and my MIL's gift. I'm hoping that tomorrow she gets them because she's a bit sad cause of that. I took a few pictures of the smallest party ever! She's okay with it, I was going to do a chucky cheeses, but we had a setback. I will take her to chucky cheeses later on. (The smallest child in the pics is my niece the rest is are all mine, yea even that dh) :O Notice how the cake got a bit disheveled, well it was the lid, okay that's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;O)

DD's Birthday!

Today is my dd's birthday! Yup she turns the big "7" she's just as happy as can be. My sister and BIL gave her this awesome drum set for her b-day. It has snares, drums, a mini keyboard, cymbols, and a headphone with mic. YUP she can sing, and practice to real music. She can also hear it in silence, Thank GOD!! She also loves to play guitar! I'm so proud of her, looks like she'll be taking after her mommie after all. I love the look in her face in that second picture, I've seen many drummers before and they all make that face, YAY!! The oldest dd wanted nothing to do with MUSIC :crying mother: (she wants sports), but it's their dreams, and I'm here to support them in whatever they decide!

This is my dh's old party house by the lake! I used to love it when we were dating, but now I think it's a weird old house. It just gives me the creeps. It sure is old! I shot an angle because I was freaking out in there. I remember that house used to be extremely cold during the winter, but now it sure is HOT as H3LL :o) We celebrate easter there every year since we've been married (that makes it 14years), I usually stay outdoors! Us menopausal women need our air if not we tend to get cranky ;o)

Here is my little girl with her drum set! Can I just say Calgon take me away, but only after I collect my good pair of ear plugs!! She loves her drums, and has been hounding me to charge the video camera cause she wants me to video tape her "drumming" as she says it. She says that it's the only way that she'll know if she's on the right path! Oh dear! So now we get the opportunity to not only hear it IRL, but on TV as well :shocked: Oh before I forget she needs new drum sticks, she sort of broke hers, and well we might have to take a trip out of town to buy her some, they don't sell them here. She's quite sad cause she says that it's not the same with markers, hahahaha!! No Kidding! Sure helps my ears though ;o)

8/1/07 Photo a day challenge

This is the building where my mother went to school when she was in the third grade. This was back in or around 1957. This building she recalls was located several blocks away from where we live now. It used to be behind our local Dairy Queen, where now if you visit you will find a new building for the U.S. Border Patrol. The school was recsued from our Old Zapata which was evacuatted due to sudden high water rises. The story is that they opened the dam in the amistad river, which comes from the north of texas somewhere around El Paso, TX. This building has to be at least 70-80 years old, of course I would have to research that a bit more. The building is made out of wood! I have seen this building on the inside, and it's ancient! Not very much remodling has been done to it. It has been turned into four cute little apartments with central air. The inside has beautiful wood floors (original), and all the doors are original as well. I will try to see if I can snap a few shots of the inside of this at a later date. BTW, everytime I've been in that building I get the creeps! It has a haunted feel to it, and I the only ghostly experiences that I've ever had have been in there. I used to spend the night with my friends that own that building to the day. I used to love to sleep outside on that balcony, which makes me wonder if they still have that up, last time it was falling apart. Of course when one is young ghostly experiences are not that important, so I don't remember ever being afraid just feeling weird, kwim? I will have to make a trip up there perhaps tomorrow if not this weekend for sure.

Okay over at Mr. Jason Sampson's ( the beloved husband of the one and only Kelly Sampson) blog he had a neat thing. He googled his name and added the word: needs, and it came up with different things. I did the same and here is what I came up with:

1. Myrna Needs to Work nights (WOW!!! Right on the money for I am a night owl).

2. Myrna Needs at least 3-4 days notice to solve a problem (Possible).

3. Myrna Needs a parking permit (VERY TRUE, for this past SSI I got a ticket
for not having my permit).

4. Myrna's need of paying attention to every single detail gets in the way of ensuring complete
satisfaction (freaky that it's this real).

5. Myrna needs an angel (OH MY GOD!! It said this: Give Thanks and Sing Praises unto the
Lord. PS. 92, should I worry?)

So I went with my dh to his workplace/office, BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! No really this is where he works. It was dark out, as this just happened an hour ago.

2- Speed limit (there were many of these cuttie thingys)

3-A total made up speed limit (hahaha- A LA!!???!)

4-The so called workplace (yup it's not ur usual office is it)

My dh is a derrick Man and he works way on top of this baby, it's about 140-150 ft. high! I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it. Eventhough I never say this to anyone (including him), I'm so proud of him! He brings home the big bucks, and I am so grateful. I think I'm very lucky! He's giving me the opportunity to get an education, and soon I will be able to contribute to the family as well. We'll move up the ladder to rich folk, hahahahaha!! Well at least we'll secure the future of our dd's to the best of our ability.

This is my youngest dd, she just loves to pose for me. I love this girl! She melts my heart, but then again what else can a mother say? She's gonna break hearts ;o) She has her mothers sense of humor, without her the house is sad and boring. That is why I rarely let her go anywhere without me. Sometimes she does go to my sisters for a few hours, and I can't stand the emptyness so I go and get her back. That's all for now, I'm getting sentimental, and she's right here next to me.

I went outside to my swimming pool area, and OMG I've never seen grass so high in my entire life! It's a jungle out there, I swear!! Those so called Narnia lights (I named them that), are like 7-8 feet high, and you can more less see that the grass is coming from underneath as well as from the top (trees). I am ready to start fixing that pool area up, but that dh is not cooperating. I think I will have to hire someone to come and do that job for us. If I would've known that pool would be so high maintenance, I would've saved my money for sure!! Thanks for looking in our jungle!!
